General information about MPEI - FESTO

Institute MPEI – FESTO was created in 1999 for students training to modern methods of creation the automatic control systems for industrial equipment using the progressive technical means and software support. The international industrial concern Festo is our partner which is the one of the world leaders in creation of automation means (the divisions of Festo concern were established in 56 countries all over the world and this concern has the many-ears experience in educational activity in Russia).

Institute MPEI-FESTO trains the Bachelors, Engineers and Masters in the area of control automation with deep knowledge in the fields of:

• mechatronics;

• electronic control means;

• pneumatic drive systems;

• electromechanical drive systems;

• hydraulic drive systems; system of machine vision.

Institute MPEI-FESTO is the one of the founders of international inter-university network "Synergy" which joins the laboratories and educational premises oà MPEI, Baltic State Technical University "VOENMECH", Omsk State Technical University, Sevastopol National Technical University (Ukraine) and Karaganda State Technical University (Kazakhstan). Through this network the MPEI-Festo students have the access to the laboratory equipment of partner-universities and absorb the knowledge from the teachers of these universities.

Institute MPEI-FESTO has the computer labs; the labs in mechatronics, programmable devices, machine vision, pneumatic drives, electromechanical drives, hydraulic drives, as well as the unique equipment complex for fulfillment of experimental researchers. Simultaneously with the obtaining the technical knowledge, MPEI-FESTO students train English language during 5 years as well as the fundamentals of business-keeping.

Institute MPEI-FESTO includes the design-research department which staff deal with the development of the educational work-benches and the means of industry automation, perform the researchers in the field of automation. This department equipment is available for the students to fulfill the initiative experimental projects and the final diploma projects.

Many students of MPEI-FESTO perform the development of the real systems on the base of industry orders as their diploma projects.
