Working visit of MPEI representative to Wrocław University of Science and Technology (Poland)

In the period from the 16th of June, 2017 till the 25th of June, 2017 Institutional Coordinator for Erasmus+ Programme Irina Kulik visited Wrocław University of Science and Technology (Politechnika Wrocchawska - WUST, Poland).

Partnership between MPEI and WUST has been lasting for a long time. In 2016 in frames of cooperation of our Universities two new programs were started such as Erasmus + (short-term mobility) and two diploma program.

During the visit and program monitoring a number of meetings with staff of WUST International office and Departments involved in the above-noted programs were arranged. In frames of the meeting the mechanisms of program implementation were adjusted and agreements on grants for the academic mobility in 2017/2018 academic year were reached. Moreover a meeting with MPEI students who now are trained at Wrocław University of Science and Technology according to the Erasmus+ program took place there. 5 students of Institute of Electrical Power Engineering, Institute of Thermal and Nuclear Power Engineering and the Smolensk branch shared their impressions of Poland and their studies there. Some current issues were discussed and settled. Students were grateful to MPEI for the opportunity to participate in the Erasmus+ program allowing raising their competence. From the very start of this program between Universities according to the program in WUST 15 MPEI students and Ph.D.-students were trained, and 3 Polish students from WUST were accepted at MPEI.

In frames of the visit the meetings with WUST coordinators of Two Diploma program Eve Mrochek and prof. Robert Liss were arranged. Now the student of MPEI Institute of Electrical Power Engineering Anastasia Kotelnikova accomplishes her training at WUST according to the Two Diploma program. For the first time in the forthcoming academic year the admission of the Polish student Darya Batarovich is planned. She will be trained at MPEI according to such a program. At the meeting the issues concerning a new program organization for the Polish student were discussed and the algorithm of their decision was also developed.

In conclusion it should be mentioned that a new director of WUST International office doctor Andrzej highly appreciated MPEI as a partner and he intends to continue the policy on deepening of cooperation between our Universities. Dr. Andrzej Mochko had acceded to the position this May and MPEI delegation has been acquainted with him only during the visit.
