MPEI International Division informs that from March 8 to March 19, 2013 MPEI delegation visited Vietnam to participate in events concerning foreign students recruiting to train in MPEI and to carry out a cycle of the Academic Competitions "Time to study in Russia!" and Academic Competition "Nuclear Education in Russia".

During a pilot start of the project in 2013 to carry out Academic Competition there had been defined the following countries: Vietnam, Mongolia, China, Kazakhstan, Moldova, and Armenia. MPEI headed organizing committee on preparation of Academic Competitions' cycle in a number of Vietnamese cities. Besides MPEI another 22 Russian Universities took part in the events of internal and correspondence format.

More than 30 thousand people visited the exhibition. During the exhibition there had been distributed reference books "Time to Study in Russia" in the Vietnamese language with information about Russian Universities and Russian Concern «RosAtom» reference book, information leaflets announcing Academic Competitions and advertizing materials of Universities. During the event there had been widespread 10 thousand leaflets about MPEI in the Vietnamese language. During the exhibition the local television shot the reporting for one of the Vietnamese channels where the integrated stand about education in Russia was shown.

In day of the exhibition in Hanoi there had been passed the first Academic Competition from a cycle "Time to study in Russia!" On the 10th of March in Hanoi 350 school students took part in the Academic Competition on mathematics. Previously 20 thousand information leaflets about the Academic Competition were widespread around schools by means of the Komsomol organization. On March 12 State Atomic Energy Corporation "RosAtom" held the Academic Competition of correspondence format on the site created for this purpose.

On March 11 in Ninh Binh City - Northern Province of Vietnam - there had been passed one more Academic Competition - 158 school students from 6 schools of the province took part in it. Over 1000 people took part in the event for the Academic Competition opening.

On March 12 there had been a meeting with Director of the International School, Vietnam National University - Nguyen Trong Do. International School Management assisted in carrying out events in all cities of Vietnam at the highest level. During the meeting there had been passed a discussion concerning joint academic programs and areas of cooperation directions.

The second Academic Competition "Time to study in Russia!" in Hanoi took place on March 16. 240 school students of the senior classes took part in action. The Academic Competition passed in the old building of university.

The final Academic Competition from a cycle "Time to study in Russia!" took place on March 17 in Hải Dương and brought together 178 participants. During the Academic Competition there had been a meeting with the Komsomol leaders who have made the contribution to organization of events on carrying out the Academic Competition. Also MPEI participated in the educational exhibition that has taken place in Hải Dương the same day. More than 3 thousand school students from the city and the province visited the Exhibition.

As a whole work is carried out by representatives from MPEI in Vietnam assisted formation of positive image of Russian education abroad. In the future the bigger attention is supposed to be paid to carrying out actions in country towns of Vietnam.
