MPEI graduate Zhou Liqun awarded the Order of Friendship by the President of Russia

On March 30, 2026, the President of the Russian Federation signed Decree No. 201 “On Awarding State Decorations of the Russian Federation”. Under this decree, Mr. President awarded the Order of Friendship Zhou Liqun, Chairman of the Union of Chinese Entrepreneurs in Russia, MPEI graduate and MPEI Honorary Professor.

This high state honor was conferred in recognition of his significant contribution to the development of Russian-Chinese trade and economic cooperation, as well as cultural and humanitarian ties.

Zhou Liqun’s work is actively focused on strengthening business, scientific and humanitarian connections between Russia and China. He studied at MPEI from 1989 to 1993 at the Department of Electromechanics. Currently, he serves as CEO of China Chengtong International Investment. Its Russian office is located in the Greenwood Business Park. Zhou Liqun is also Chairman of the “Union of Chinese Entrepreneurs in Russia” and President of the Greenwood International Trade and Exhibition Center.

With his involvement, initiatives are being implemented to enhance cooperation between MPEI, as well as scientific and educational institutions in China. In 2024, Zhou Liqun was awarded the title of MPEI Honorary Professor for his contribution to fostering collaboration with academic and research organizations of the People’s Republic of China.
