MPEI took part in information stage and selection round of the Academic Competition "It is time to study in Russia!" in the Republic of Moldova

Under the auspices of Rossotrudnichestvo since 21.10.15 to 24.10.2015 in the Republic of Moldova there took place the information stage and the selection round of the Academic Competition for school students of graduation and pregraduation classes "It is time to study in Russia!". 8 Russian Universities took active part and 17 Russian Universities virtually participated in the organization of the Competition. 

This year for the first time the Academic Competition was held within several days and on three platforms: in Komrat Theoretical Lyceum named after G. A. Gaydarzhi (Komrat City), Tiraspol High School No. 9 (Tiraspol, the Dnestr Moldavian Republic (DMR)) and Russian Center of Science and Culture (Kishinev City). Opening of events in every of educational institutions began with presentations of participating Universities of the Consortium "It is time to study in Russia!", demonstrations of videos about 8 Russian technical Universities: MPEI, MIPT, NUST "MISIS", MTI, MGSU, STANKIN, MIET, Saint Petersburg state university of architecture and civil engineering and answers of their representatives to questions of students, their parents and professors.

Then within one and a half hour every student from 10-12 classes could try the hand at the selection round of the Academic Competition, solving 20 tasks on mathematics of various degree of complexity offered by organizers.

In total about 500 people took part in the Academic Competition on three platforms, among them 298 students filled in the test.

The main objectives of this Academic Competition abroad are use of the Olympiad mechanism to create natural competitive environment among talented youth of the Republic of Moldova and the Dnestr Moldavian Republic having interest in continuation of the education in Russia; creation of the positive image of Russian engineering education, and also demonstration of a wide range of the Universities represented by organizers of the Academic Competition; selection of graduates from national schools to train in Russia within the quota determined by the Government of the Russian Federation and also on the contractual basis.

Winners and prizers of the Academic Competition will be able to receive the training quota in one of the Russian technical universities from the provided list, including MPEI. For a conscious choice of future University to continue their education every participant of the Academic Competition got the reference book with information on participating Universities of the Consortium "It is time to study in Russia!" 2015/16 academic years and booklets of Universities that took part in the organization of the Academic Competition in the Republic of Moldova and PMR.
