Students of MPEI visited Summer School of the New Silk Road Alliance

n the period from July 9 to July 18 2019 at the Xi'an Jiaotong University of China the Summer School of the New Silk Road Alliance took its place.

From the MPEI part six people participated in the program, including Anna Klimova, student group’s curator and specialist of the Department of International Relations. This year MPEI was presented by students of ITNPE, IHRES, IEPE and IREE Departments of MPEI. The School program included Chinese studies, calligraphy, painting and lectures related to leadership, math modelling, prospects of New Silk Road development and modern enterprise in China.

In the course of the Summer School students were offered an opportunity to visit different museums, such as XI’an Historical Museum, Banpo Museum, and others, as well as to see the Terracotta Army.

On the 16th of July 2019 Anna Klimova took part in the meeting of student groups’ coordinators from the Alliance’s Universities with Guangrui Wen Vice Dean of the School of International Education of Xi’an Jiaotong University. During the meeting, the issues of the further collaboration between MPEI and XJTU have been touched. Moreover the queries concerning the offering of scholarships for short-term study projects at Xi’an Jiaotong University to Master and Ph.D. students of MPEI in 2020/2021 have been successfully discussed.

On the 17th of July 2019 a closing ceremony of the Alliance of the New Silk Road Alliance Summer School was held. Anna Klimova and MPEI students created a presentation with the translation in Chinese about the cooperation of MPEI with the universities of China. After the presentation the guests were offered a visit to the Innovation Harbor. This is a new Campus of XJTU located in the suburbs of the Xi’an city.

Xi’an Jiaotong University is one of the leading Universities and one of the esteemed MPEI partners in China. XJTU is one of the most ancient Chinese Universities, and many well-known scientists are its Alumni. Teaching staff members are well-trained specialists that fruitfully share their experience and wisdom with students. The University is equipped with contemporary technologies, computers, laboratories that contribute to the heightening of the students’ knowledge level and make the study process for them attractive and captivating. The XJTU territory itself is a whole nature reserve with numerous parks, fountains and different plants.
