Delegation from Shahid Beheshti University (Iran) visited MPEI

On 29.10.2015 a delegation from Shahid Beheshti University visited MPEI. Shahid Beheshti University – SBU is one of the most prestigious Universities in Iran. Founded in 1959 as National University of Iran, now Shahid Beheshti University combines traditions of classical University and dynamic character of the innovative interdisciplinary scientific enterprise. There are 19 faculties where 17 500 people are trained according to the programs of bachelor degree (199 programs), master course (632) and doctoral degree (257). Since 1990, the University pays much attention to programs of researches and the areas of doctoral degree. At the moment in the University there are 16 research Institutes and Centers. In spring, 2013 according to new agenda of the Ministry of Science of Iran, Power and Water University of Technology – PWUT joined Shahid Beheshti University. 

The delegation from Shahid Beheshti University included Director of the Department of the International Cooperation Amir Saiid Shirani and Associate Professor of Institute of Electrical Equipment and computer facilities Ali A. Afzalian. During the meeting Shahid Beheshti University representatives expressed interest in updating of the outdated contract on cooperation that was earlier signed with Power and Water University of Technology, that is now a part of Shahid Beheshti University, and also they discussed issues of enhancing cooperation in training of Ph.D.-students.
