National Research University has become co-founder of the Academic Union of “green” Development of ASRTU

The Annual conference of ASRTU “Low-carbon energy and sustainable development” was held on June 30, 2023 in China.  The events included in the conference were held on the basis of the Chinese Petroleum University (Qingdao). Ignatiev Evgeny Vitalievich, associate professor of the Institute of Hydropower and Renewable Energy (IHRE) participated in the events on behalf of the National Research University “Moscow Power Engineering Institute”.

Advanced studies in the ecological field, regional sustainable development and carbon neutrality industries were the main subject of the Conference ASRTU in 2023.

Declaration on the establishment of Academic Union “green” Development of the Association of Technical Universities of Russia and China was signed within the framework of the conference.

The Academic Union of "Green" Development ASRTU will develop educational exchanges and cooperation in the field of low-carbon and sustainable development of Russia and China. 20 participants of the ASRTU – 10 Russian and 10 Chinese universities were included in the Academic Union.

Within the framework of the round tables, ASRTU participants discussed issues of development in new promising areas, issues of strengthening cooperation on joint educational programs, including programs in English, academic mobility programs for students and teachers, etc.

The Chinese Petroleum University in Qingdao, which became the venue for the conference "Low-carbon Energy and Sustainable Development" in 2023, is a long-term participant of ASRTU, within which it has been cooperating with the National Research University “Moscow Power Engineering Institute” since 2014. 

The University is one of the leading technical universities of the People's Republic of China. The university consists of 15 schools and colleges. The university has over 21,000 students and employs over 1,400 employees. The Chinese Petroleum University is traditionally included in the ranking of the best Chinese technical universities and is a member of international associations in the field of education and research.

In 2023, the Chinese Petroleum University celebrates its 70th anniversary.
