Opening of the Innovative Training Center of the ABB company in Moscow

On the 31st of May, 2016 in the Technopolis "Moscow" there took place the solemn opening of Innovative Training Center of the ABB company.

The leading scientists, professors of Universities, specialists of the companies who are engaged in inventions in the field of electrotechnics, power engineering, energy preservation and robotics, representatives of public organizations and mass media have been invited to the opening ceremony. Among the invited guests there was also a delegation from MPEI.

The welcome speech was made by President of ABB in Russia, Belarus and Central Asia Anatoliy Popov; Julienne Tony – the deputy ambassador of Switzerland in Russia on economy; Per-Vegard Nerseth - Head of ABB Robotics Department in the world; Igor Ishchenko – Director of Technopolis "Moscow"; Pekka Titinen - the member of ABB Group Executive Committee, the manager of "Discrete automatization and movement travel" ABB Department in the world.

Then there was organized the excursion for guests to the Innovative Center including the Robotics Application Center and 10 classrooms:

• Low voltage complete device;
• Wiring devices;
• Electronic control gear;
• High-power automatic switches;
• Complete device assembly;
• Building automation;
• Automation and drive engineering;
• Electrical machine;
• Products for ensuring reliable electric power supply;
• Industrial automatic process control system.

Classrooms are completed with acting models of installations, evaluation units of the equipment and technical reference books.

At the ABB Robotics Center there was presented the unique sample of the bimanous industrial YuMi robot assistant that had been announced for the first time at the Hanover Exhibition last year. The ABB YuMi robot is capable to work together with people, without threatening their safety at all. At the same time it does not replace people, and it works together with them. It has no intelligence like any person has, but it is capable to perform monotonous work with the accuracy, speed and attentiveness that is unavailable to people.

Igor Ishchenko, CEO of Technopolis "Moscow" has noted that ABB will train absolutely new engineering personnel with a high professional training level for working with the high-technology robotic equipment.

The Сenter will help in implementation of scientific achievements in the RES sphere and energy efficiency for the Russian production. Participation of specialists and producers in implementation of power effective projects will allow to approach professionally the energy efficiency issue.

The new Innovative Training Center became the unique object of the company in Russia where there are concentrated main products and technologies of the ABB Company. More than 4000 specialists of the electrotechnical market will be trained here per year.
