MPEI at the solemn reception of the Union of Chinese Entrepreneurs in Russia

On December 14th, 2023, Nikolay Rogalev, MPEI Rector and Alexander Tarasov, Vice-Rector on International Relations, visited a solemn reception organized by the Union of Chinese Entrepreneurs in Russia. The chairman of the Union is Zhou Liqun, MPEI graduate. 

The reception is dedicated to the 2024. In the solemn part, performed with the welcoming words: Mr. Zhang Hanhui, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Russian Federation, and Ivan Melnikov, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation. Both representatives noted that the outgoing 2023 was marked by the positive dynamics of comprehensive cooperation for Russian-Chinese relations.

The guests of the solemn reception were the representatives of government, business communities and public organizations, scientists and cultural figures from Russia and China.

It was noted that next year will be marked by the 75th anniversary of the establishment of the People’s Republic of China and the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Russia.

MPEI started cooperation with China began in 1949, when the first students, including the future Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China Li Peng, were accepted for training. You can read more about the MPEI cooperation with China here.
