MPEI received a delegation from the National University of Defense Technologies

On December 21, 2023, a delegation from the National University of Defense Technology (China) visited MPEI.

From the Chinese side, the meeting was attended by Yang Jun, Head of Research Departmnent, Li Shaoxiang, Senior Engineer of the Research Department, Huang Jian, Professor of the College of Intelligence Science and Technology, two professors of the Electronic Science College: Wang Guoyan and Zhang Chi, and Zhu Lingxiao, Associate Professor of the Intelligence Science and Technology College.

During the meeting, MPEI leadership and representatives of the National University of Defense Technologies discussed issues of cooperation. The guests got acquainted with MPEI educational programs, key scientific and research areas of work at the university. Alexander Tarasov, Vice-Rector on International Relations, noted the long-standing cooperation with Chinese universities in the field of training students for the energy industry and emphasized the expansion of its horizons. One of the examples of such cooperation is the project "MPEI-Hainan University". For its part, the Chinese delegation expressed its readiness to assist MPEI in Hainan in training highly qualified personnel.

Then the guests were given a tour of the Institute of Thermal and Nuclear Power Engineering (ITNPE), the Institute of Electrical Power Engineering (EPE), laboratories of the Department of High Voltage Engineering and Electrophysics (HVEE) and Electric Power Systems (EPS), the center of the National Technological Initiative "Technologies for the Transportation of Electricity and distributed intelligent power systems", and the GOELRO Museum.

At the end of the tour, guests met with Chinese students studying at MPEI. The students shared their impressions of the learning process and life in another country.

Following the results of the meeting, the parties expressed their willingness to develop bilateral relations between the universities.
