International Conference on the scientific educational project Erasmus +

​On the 12-13.05.2016 within the realization of the pilot scientific and educational project Erasmus + "Flight safety and reliability – the master's program" there was held the international conference, a meeting of steering committee and a seminar of the project working group.

Being a part of the consortium, the participants of the project are 9 Universities from the countries of Great Britain, Italy, Spain, Russia, and Uzbekistan. Among 515 applications submitted in 2015 for  the EU review by Universities of all world countries within the program Erasmus + in the KA2 area (joint projects for development of the universities potential), this project has been selected from 140 others for financing, and it is one of the 13 projects realized in Russia. The initiative of MPEI participation in the project belongs to Vladimir Sokolov - Head of Scientific-Technological Innovation Center of Energy Saving Technologies Department.

Plenary session of the Conference was opened by MPEI Vice Rector on International Relations Vladimir Zamolodchikov.

The Deputy Chief Representative of the EU to the Russian Federation Sven-Olow Carlson in his welcoming speech to the project participants has emphasized the importance of the large-scale international cooperation, not limited to EU countries, in the sphere of innovations and the exchange of the best experience, relevance of the specific issue of flight safety and reliability and the importance of this project on a global scale.

During the Conference there were discussed the conception and requirements to the current master program, and there was granted the hearing the estimates and recommendations of the experts and concerned parties.

During the second day of the events there were held the seminar of the working group and the meeting of steering committee led by Chairman prof. Peter Barrington, Head of School of Space and Aviation Engineering from Kingston University (Great Britain), being a grant holder of this project.

In the concluding remarks Peter Barrington has expressed his profound gratitude to the National Research University "Moscow Power Engineering Institute" administration for the organization of the International Conference and the given opportunity to perform the events at such a high level.
