Department of Control and Intelligent Technologies (СIT) is a department with a rich history and one of the first departments in Russia that trains specialists in the field of control in technical systems. It was founded in 1935.The initial name of the department was a Department of Telemechanics and Automation, later its names were changed: Department of Automation and Telemechanics (until 1969), Department of Automation  (1969-1994), Department of Control and Informatics (1994-2019), Department of  Control and Intelligent  Technologies (from 2019 to the present). Over the years, from the Department there were emerged the Department  of Computer Technology and the Department  of  Systems Engineering, which currently are  the Department of Computing Technologies and the Department of Computing Machines, Systems and Networks.

Summary

The department trains specialists of a broad profile in the field of development and operation of automatic control systems and industrial automation, systems for intelligent data processing and decision support, as well as information and analytical systems.

The advantage of the Department is a profound training in general engineering disciplines, as well as the focus of graduates on solving problems using modern management methods, data analysis, programming environments and artificial intelligence technologies. This advantage is achieved due to the fundamental theoretical knowledge in combination with the modern intelligent  technologies.

Our students actively participate in the research work of the department, make presentations at scientific conferences. For the best students there is an opportunity to practice abroad (Germany, Austria, Croatia).
