26.11.2021

MPEI representatives took part in a discussion of methodical recommendations “Organization of educational process for foreigners in branch institutes remotely under the Covid-19 pandemic” and ”Best practice in academic mobility, internship organization and employment of foreigners in leading branch institutes”, developed in the framework of  an event “Organization and conduct of retraining for superiors and employees of international services at Universities” as a part of the Federal Project “Educational export” of the National Project “Education”. The meeting for discussion was organized by the Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration under the President of the Russian Federation.

Since the pandemic started the universities had participated in a unique phenomenon - closing the campuses and making a transfer to remote education. Due to the development of online-education and digital technologies, most systems of higher education in 2020 had already had the experience and infrastructure that helped maintain the structure of the study process.

During the meeting, positions, recommendations and suggestions of a vast Russian universities’ society upon the structure formation and contents of methodical recommendations were made. Their aim was to attract foreign applicants to Russia, their study support and sojourning.

The project of methodical recommendations on the organization of remote educational process for foreigners in branch institutes had been updated at the conference. Its section “Best practice for using distance learning technologies and e-learning in industry-specific Universities amid COVID-19 pandemic” seized materials of MPEI employees on the topic “The specifics of studying a foreign language, as well as Russian as a foreign language for academic and professional purposes under COVID-19 pandemic”. The portfolio of recommendations on best practice of academic mobility internships and employment had been updated as well with the case of MPEI on creation of the system of continuous personnel training for Uzbekistan on the basis of the MPEI Branch.

Discussions were held on November 23 and 24 remotely through Zoom, and MPEI delegates were Alexander Tarasov, Vice-Rector on International Relations and Vasilina Rosheva, specialist of the International Relations Department.
