MPEI in the university ranking lists in 2022
The
National University Ranking
According to the
results of the assessment conducted by the Interfax news agency, MPEI took the 25th position in the National
University Ranking among 358 Russian universities.
The summary
indicator is the arithmetic result of five parametric ratings:
"Education", "Research", "Social Environment",
"Innovation and Entrepreneurship", "University Brand".
According to the
aggregate indicator "Research", MPEI entered the top 20 Russian
universities, taking the 15th
position. According to the "Innovation and Entrepreneurship"
parameter, our university occupies the 16th
position in the ranking.
RAEX
MPEI
entered the top 20 universities in the RAEX subject ranking in four study
areas.
On March
30, the RAEX-Analytics agency for the first time published
subject rankings of the best universities in Russia in 29 study areas. The list
includes 136 universities from 41 countries of the region. A new study of
scientific research on subject areas is a continuation of the Three Missions of
the University ranking.
MPEI was
among the best universities in Russia in four subject ratings at once:
- "Energy, power engineering and electrical engineering" - 2nd place
- "Nuclear Physics and Technologies" — 6th place
- Mechanical Engineering and Robotics — 11th place
- "Information
Technologies" — 20th place
HeadHunter
MPEI was
included in the top three universities in Moscow in the field of
"Production, agriculture" according to HeadHunter (hh.ru), one of the
largest Russian online recruitment companies.
The most in-demand
specialists in the labor market in the field of production and agriculture were
design engineers, labor protection specialists, process engineers, quality
control inspectors.
Independent evaluation of education
quality
MPEI has taken part in an independent evaluation of
the educational quality for the first time. The conditions of the educational
activities implemented by the University have been rated extremely high – MPEI
has received 95 out of 100 points. The independent evaluation procedure is aimed at acquiring the
information about the educational institution’s activity in the field of study,
quality of the students’ training and educational program realization.
Apart from entering the main general ranking named THE World University Rankings 2022, MPEI has been listed with the best universities in three subject ratings of THE: in Computer Science, Engineering and Physical Sciences.
MPEI has claimed the 9th place in the subject ranking THE «Computer Science» among Russian universities and has strengthened its position in the world one, reaching the 501-600 group from the 601-800 part.
In THE «Engineering» MPEI has taken a position in the 801-1001 group and the 25th place among Russian Universities.
In the list of leading world Universities in THE “Physical sciences” MPEI has claimed the 23rd place among the Russian Universities and resides in the 801-1000 group.
MPEI in the university ranking lists in 2021
MPEI public media portal claims the 7th place
in the ranking for the work efficiency of universities’ websites. The
efficiency metric considers such parameters as the target group of the website,
the time spent on it, the number of visits per month and the number of
abandoned requests.
The ranking
systematizes the public media activity of 219 universities that are subjects to
the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia. The list was created by
the representatives of universities, public organizations and mass media, as
well as experts in public media theory and sociology.
Superjob Research Center has created the Young
Graduates’ Salary Ranking of Russian Universities surveying students that
finished their education in 2015-2020 in different domains.
MPEI mounted to the 6th place among the technical
Universities. The average salary of the graduates of our Universities has
increased by 25000 RUR and makes 150 000 RUR per month.
MPEI has
entered the Top-20 Forbes Ranking of best Russian Universities.
To form the
ranking the efficiency monitoring data of more than 120 Higher Education
Institutes were taken. Long-list includes 502 Russian Universities, both public
and private, giving Bachelor and Master education. The formation methodics
assesses the quality of the education, data on the demand for graduates, their
employment, reputation among the employers, contribution to the innovative
economy, and international activities.
MPEI
Institute of Information and Computing Technologies (IICT) has taken the 4
place in the Ranking of Moscow Universities’ IT-Faculties.
The basis
of the ranking is conventionally the analysis of graduates’ demanding factors
in the labour market.
Among the
popular IT-professions that are given at MPEI, the following can be pointed
out: IT specialist, programmer, system administrator, business-analytic,
tester, specialist of the technical support.
Ranking of publishing and inventing activity of Russian Universities
MPEI has advanced by ten positions in “Index of Russian Universities’
inventing activity”, claiming the 15-16 place of general ranking. The study for
science and invention activity of Russian Universities is carried out for
consecutive six years by the Analytic Centre “Expert”.
RAEX Ranking
MPEI
consequently claims a highly-esteemed position in educational, scientific,
innovation and international spheres, taking the 24th place among best Russian
Universities.
This year
MPEI entered top-20 institutes by the level of science and research activity
and top-17 of Russian institutes by the level of demand for a university's graduates
among employers. .
QS Ranking
In 2021,
MPEI entered the QS Ranking, one of the world’s Universities’ rankings of
greatest authority, created by British company Quacquarelli Symonds. QS rates
universities worldwide by 6 positions: academic reputation, employer
reputation, ratio of the teaching staff and the students’ numbers, citation
index and quota of the foreign teachers and students.
MPEI is continuously strengthening its
reputation in the international science and education community.
MPEI has entered the subject ranking of Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) in Electric Power Engineering, showing stability and professionalism in its field.
In the category "Engineering - Electrical Engineering and Electronics”, MPEI has ranked 8th among Russian universities, and in the world it has been in the 401―450 position among the best universities. Among the Russian universities included in the top 10 of this subject ranking, only two universities, including MPEI, were not receiving additional financial support within the framework of the 5-100 project.
MPEI has entered the subject ranking THE Emerging Economies University Rankings 2021 by entering the 351-400 group compared to 401-500 position in the past year.

MPEI has entered the top-10 most demanded
universities in the IT field according to the survey of one of the largest
Russian Internet recruitment companies HeadHunter.
By the
demand for graduates in the labor market, the Institute of Information and
Computing Technologies took the 6th position out of 17 universities studied in
the poll.
According
to hh.ru, graduates of MPEI Institute of Information and Computing (IICT),
MPEI, receive more invitations for interviews, they are offered higher
salaries, and they are more likely to look for work in their field of study
compared to graduates from universities with lower ratings.
MPEI
included in subject ratings of Times Higher Education
In 2020, MPEI has confirmed its
positions in the international rating THE in the subject field “Engineering
Sciences and Technologies”, having claimed the 801-1000 position among the best
universities worldwide.
Moreover, in this year MPEI
entered the list of the best universities of the world in two new subject
fields: in the field of Computer Science MPEI took the 601-800 position and in
Physics - the 801-1000 position.
In 2020, MPEI resides among leading universities and takes the 1001+ position among 1527 worldwide, and 17 among 48 in Russia.
One of the strongest aspects of MPEI according to the rating is the industrial income, that is 141 THE position worldwide and 8th in Russia.
MPEI has taken 12 place among the best technical universities of Russia and 21 overall in the 2020 Forbes Ranking.
Forbes seeks to evaluate the quality of Russian education by making the rating of higher educational institutes, and as well to find out which universities prepare specialists that could become the leaders of the economy or part of Russian political elite and enter the Forbes
National Research University "MPEI" has confirmed its leading positions in educational, scientific, innovative and international activities once again, entering top 25 best Russian universities in the ninth annual RAEX-100 ranking. MPEI has retained its last-year position showing better results than several universities that receive state support in the framework of 5-100 project.

According to the results of the 2018 QS ranking among the BRICS countries (BRICS), the National Research University "MPEI" entered the top hundred of the best Russian universities in the BRICS countries.
According to the ranking, one of MPEI’s strongest points is interaction with the real sector of the economy: according to this indicator ("Income in industry"), MPEI is ranked 257th in the world. For the first time, MPEI entered the group of the best universities in the world in the subject ranking of the British Times Higher Education (THE) in the field of Engineering Sciences and Technologies, entering the 601-800 group.
According to the updated Webometrics Ranking of World Universities, published in July 2018, MPEI took 29th place among Russian universities and 2386th worldwide (in 2017, MPEI was ranked 2528).
