MPEI and JSC "United Energy Company" renovate Electric Power Systems Department

25 January, 2022, on Tatyana’s Day, a solemn opening of the renovated Electric Power Systems (EPS) Department of the Electric Power Engineering Institute of MPEI was carried out.

At the department, United Energy Company (UNECO) has made a full-scale reconstruction and a redevelopment of laboratories, study and staff rooms, halls and hallways.

The work included room branding and installation of interactive stands with actual information on the company.

The opening ceremony of the renovated EPS department was attended by General Director of UNECO Evgeny Prokhorov, MPEI Rector Nikolay Rogalev, Director of the MPEI Institute of Electric Power Engineering Vladimir Tulsky.

Evgeniy Prokhorov thanked the MPEI Administration for the successful efforts to prepare staff for the Energy branch, wished students to find interesting and fruitful career, and expressed hope that MPEI would remain the best University that educates power engineers. He said:

“Dear colleagues, dear MPEI Administration! I am glad to greet you at the opening of a new MPEI student’s space and I am delighted to come again to the best power engineering institute of the country! MPEI is a forge of the future in the Russian energy branch and its main source of manpower. Power engineering development is crucial for the country's development”.

In the course of the event, Nikolay Rogalev and Eugeniy Prokhorov handed memorable certificates and prizes on behalf of MPEI to the UNECO staff members who worked on the reconstruction at EPS department.

The Rector of MPEI thanked the management of the energy company and all those who had a hand and an impact on the renovation of the department. He commented the opening event:

“Thanks to everyone for your efforts! Since the conclusion of the Cooperation Agreement between our university and the company in 2018, a large contribution have been made to it, including the support and development of the UNECO children's and youth school "Young Power Engineer'', the lectures read by the company's specialists, the organization of events aimed at introducing students to the company and the development of their creative abilities, the creation of interactive stands with complete up-to-date information about the company and, of course, the work on the repair and branding of education space at our university. UNECO and MPEI have a strong partnership, and I express highest hopes for its further development".
