The BRICS Network University: Spring meeting of the International Thematic Group on Energy

May 25, 2022, a regular meeting of the International Thematic Group on Energy of the BRICS Network University (NU) members was held. The meeting was held remotely on the Webex platform. It was attended by partner universities coordinators from all BRICS countries, as well as a representative of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro from Brazil, who decided to join the group after participating in the annual conference of the BRICS NU in April 2022.

At the meeting the results of the BRICS NU annual conference held in April and the prospects for organizing graduate students exchange were discussed. To improve information exchange, the participants agreed to collect information about the departments and research areas of all partner universities which will help graduate students find potential places for academic exchanges. It was decided to place the information on the official page of the International Thematic Group on Energy on the MPEI website.

According to the Indian side, a new Indian university, IIT Madras, has joined the International Energy Thematic Group. At the next meeting, it was decided to listen to their presentation for a better acquaintance with the university.

Also at the next meeting, a presentation of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro is expected.

All participants unanimously agreed that meetings of the International Energy Theme Group should be held more frequently. The next meeting is scheduled for early July 2022.
