MPEI took part in Rosatom event "Modern trends in nuclear education. STEM context"

27 September 2022, MPEI took part in an online event “Modern trends in nuclear education. STEM opportunities” (Modern trends in nuclear education. STEM context) which was organized with the support of Rosatom State Corporation as part of the 66th General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

MPEI was represented by Natalia Savchenkova, Head of the Department of Foreign Postgraduate Studies and Internships.

The event was hosted by Eduardo Landfulo, President of the alumni organization of the Energy and Nuclear Research Institute of Brazil, who spoke about the important role of interaction in the field of nuclear education in the context of STEM education (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) between leading universities and organizations working in this field.

At the meeting, 40 representatives from Latin America, Africa and Russia, including MPEI, took part in the consideration of the following issues:

• Current trends in nuclear education

• Requirements of the nuclear industry

• Joint educational programs in the context of STEM

• Cooperation between universities, etc.

Target audience of the event:

• Atomic industry,

• Nuclear infrastructure,

• Nuclear Knowledge Management,

• Universities,

• University networks.

All event participants expressed their hope for further fruitful cooperation on the experience exchange in the field of nuclear energy and the creation of effective intersectoral communication.
