Nikolay Rogalev At the meeting of the Subcommittee on Cooperation in the Field of Education of the Russian-Chinese Сommission for Humanitarian Cooperation

On October 18, 2023 Nikolay Rogalev, MPEI Rector, participated in the Russian part of the 23rd meeting of the Subcommittee on Cooperation in the Field of education of the Russian-Chinese Commission for Humanitarian Cooperation at the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation.

Dmitry Afanasyev, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation headed the Russian delegation at the meeting. Among the participants were the Representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, the Ministry of Education in Russia, Rossotrudnichestvo and leadership of leading universities of the Russian Federation.

During the meeting, Nikolay Rogalev presented a detailed report about the development of cooperation with the People’s Republic of China in the project “MPEI University-Hainan” – a word class university in the Chinese province of Hainan with campuses in the cities of Wenchang and Haikou. The project is supported by the Government of Hainan Province and the international aerospace city of Wenchang.

The project of a new word-class university in the province of Hainan was initiated by the Chinese side in early 2021. It is planned to create a modern productive University 3.0, combing the strengths of Russia and China in the field of education, science and innovation.
