Delegation of Ministry of Science and Technology of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Visits MPEI

On October 13th, 2023, the representatives of the Ministry of Science and Technology of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, headed by Dr. Myo Thein Kyaw, the Union Minister for Science and Technology, visited MPEI. The representatives of Rosatom State Corporation, which is the stakeholders of the MPEI, accompanied the delegation.

The meeting at the MPEI was attended by 30 students and Ph.D.-students studying at our university in such educational programs as electric power and electrical engineering, radio engineering, electrical complexes and systems, computer science and information processes, etc.

Vladimir Zamolodchikov, MPEI first Vice-Rector, opened the meeting. Moi Tien Zhao and Zo Ming Wu, Rector of the profile University of the Ministry of Defence, addressed the students. Students and Ph.D.-students, in turn, shared their impressions about their stay in Russia and about studying at MPEI.

Also, the delegation visited the Center of the National Technological Initiative “Technologies for the Transportation of Electricity and distributed intelligent power systems” and the Laboratory “Control Systems for solar-diesel complexes”.

The energy sector plays a great role in the development of cooperation between Russia and Myanmar. The delegation noted the high level of personnel training and MPEI technical equipment.
