Zimbabwean delegation visits MPEI

On November 13, 2023 a delegation from the Center for Education, Innovation, Research and Development (CEIRD), Zimbabwe, visited MPEI.
 

The delegation was received by Alexander Tarasov, Vice-Rector on International Relations, Elena Gulicheva, Director on International Relations, Anastasia Mashkova, Director on Integration Policy Development, and the International Administration personnel.

The guests were given a tour of the Hydropower and Renewable Energy Institute (IHRE); the Electrical Power Engineering Institute (IEPE) and the GOELRO museum.

The staff of the departments told about the achievements and prospects of development of the institutes, demonstrated modern equipment of classrooms, laboratories, computer classes.

During the visit, a movie about MPEI was shown. Then two parties discussed cooperation issues. MPEI representatives noted that they hope to maintain long-term and mutually beneficial cooperation with African countries, among which Zimbabwe is one of the key partners.

As a result of the meeting, both sides agreed to define the main principles of the organization of strategic cooperation and the development of partnership relations in various directions – from the exchange of students, professors, scientists to the opening of a target training center in Zimbabwe and participation in other international projects.

The cooperation between MPEI and universities and organizations of Zimbabwe began in 1986, when the first students were accepted for training. Read more here.
