MPEI-2021: Participation results in realization of resource centers’ abroad project

Almost all the activities of 2021 were carried out remotely by MPEI students and teachers . But it didn’t stop the successful project realization of Russian resource centers abroad.

Starting from 20 February 2021, MPEI lecturers were giving lessons in Physics for partner schools. Every Sunday, from 20 February to 30 May, and from 19 September to 26 December, the seminars were being carried out where the students were given the theoretical material and as well learned how to solve problems and apply the skills received. Overall, 34 lessons of 2 academic hours each were carried out. Every meeting gathered at least 20 students and several teachers.

Moreover, during the year the university carried out career events for school students. These events were dedicated to different engineering specialties and experiments that are beneficial for future engineers. Overall, 7 career meetings by 2 academic hours each were conducted.

5 March, 2021, students of resource centers first took part in Power Engineering Olympiad in the Russian language, Mathematics, Physics, IT in an online format. The number of students who attended the event exceeded 200 people.

17 November, 2021, Deeb Rawad, assistant professor of the Theoretical Basics of Thermal Engineering Department, MPEI, participated in the visit of the Russian Ministry delegation and had an opportunity to lecture and experiment in person at the Al-Assiah school in Damascus, Syria.

By the results of the activities in 2021, Heads of the partner country schools expressed their gratitude to the Rector of MPEI and their wishes to continue the further collaboration.

Resource Centers is a joint international project of educational partner organizations to create resource centers for Russian education abroad. Seven resource centers have already been established in Mongolia, Syria, Turkey, Bulgaria, Tajikistan, Moldova and Kyrgyzstan.

The goal of a resource center creation is to attract and prepare talented foreign applicants to study and grow in Russian universities, implement the programs of special subjects for students of special schools, raise the prestige of Russian education in the world and increase the number of talented students.
