The Bachelor program is open to foreign citizens if they have completed the higher secondary school in their country and have access to the higher education at the University level.
The student can obtain admission to MPEI by two ways: by scholarship and by contract.
The scholarship way is to apply to the Russian Cooperation Office or the Russian Consulate in his country. The educational documents in this case should be submitted to the body of Russian Ministry of Education in the student’s country. The Ministry of Science and Higher Education considers the application and, if the positive decision is taken, informs the student of it and starts the invitation process for further study.
Otherwise, the contract way is to contact the Foreign Office of MPEI and send the documents for recognition by the MPEI Recognition office, an expert center that verifies the documents on the stage of correspondence with the future students.
It is important to start the correspondence with the Foreign Office of MPEI in both cases. MPEI officers can help you with solution of the possible issues for admission, documents and arrival. The officers’ support via email is available all year long.
In the scholarship case, the Russian visa support is dedicated to the students that have obtained the quota by the Ministry, so it is recommended to discuss the situation in a special correspondence with the ministerial body.
In the contract case, the visa support is provided by MPEI services. To achieve success, it is needed to continue the correspondence with the Foreign Office. It is recommended to follow the recommendations of the coordinator.
The documents are welcome to be recognized at the Foreign Office any time. The successful recognition means the MPEI experts give the permit to official admission. In the opposite case the applicant receives a brief reasoned refusal.
In case of positive recognition the student is informed of it and can proceed with filling in the application form and sending supplementary materials like recommendations or certificates and, if needed, medical evidence. Here is the full list.
After considering these documents and establishing a bond of successful correspondence with the student, MPEI applies for invitation to the Ministry of Inner Affairs of Russia and in 3 weeks, upon the decision of the Ministry, receives consent on the student’s visa. Next, MPEI and the applicant sign the contract. Its fee for the first semester should be paid in advance remotely (through the invoice), and only then the Institute sends the invitation to the applicant.
After receiving the official invitation, the applicant personally addresses the Consulate office or diplomatic mission of the Russian Federation to obtain a visa. Having received a visa and purchased a ticket to Moscow, the applicant informs MPEI about the date, the time of arrival to Moscow and the flight number beforehand, at least 3 days prior to arrival.
Upon arrival at MPEI, the applicant submits a set of documents to MPEI.
In case of the absence of the essential documents, the applicant must leave Russia within 3 days.
The corresponding officers are accessible all year long via email study@mpei.ru. The official consideration by the Admission Committee is given between 1 April and 30 July. The enrollment itself is carried out from 1 June to 15 September.
