The Preliminary course has been created to offer Russian Language education to students who want to raise their language level before studying at MPEI on their major course, as well as to those who would like to perfect the communication skills.
The Preliminary Course Department was founded in 1991. Since then, students from the UK, Venezuela, Vietnam, Ghana, Germany, India, Spain, Italy, Canada, Kenya, China, Korea, Mongolia, Nepal, Nigeria, the Union of Myanmar, the USA, Turkey, the Central African Republic, Sri Lanka, Japan and many other countries have graduated from it. So, the Alumni geography of the Preliminary Course is quite vast, covering almost the whole world.
As the Bachelor, Master and Doctorate courses, the Preliminary Course is available by two ways, scholarship and contract. The logical structure here is similar to the logic of the main education program enrollment.
The start of the Preliminary Course is between the 1st September and 25th October in autumn 1 year-long training and between 15th February and 20th March in spring half-year training. The groups are at least 4 persons and not larger than 10 persons each.
The Preliminary Course Department has the following study programs:
- Bachelor study preparation
- Master and postgraduate study preparation
- Supplementary training for students studying in English-medium
- Individual or group training for beginners or for language skill-raising
